I hope that I am posting this request for help in the correct place. I need some help with the BOINC software. I was running the SETI at home software when I started getting the message "Boinc is not running". It has been saying this for a few days now. I would really appreciate any help that anyone might offer. I'm running Windows 7 professional. Also, if I'm not posting this question in the correct forum, please let me know, so that I'll know better next time.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

So when you check in Windows Task Manager->Processes, sorted alphabetically, is boinc.exe running after you do Start->All Programs->BOINC->BOINC Manager?

Did you update BOINC lately but forgot to tell your anti-virus program about it so that it is blocking it? Which AV package do you have, if any?
Which version of BOINC do you run? (BOINC Manager->Help->About BOINC Manager, version number only)

This message, do you see that in the screen saver?
What is Windows itself saying about this, any warnings in Start->Administrative Tools->Event Viewer->when fully loaded, click Windows logs, Application, and check all the messages for errors/weird stuff.

Thanks for getting back to me, but instead of trying to troubleshoot the problem, I solved the problem by uninstalling the BOINC software, and then reinstalling it. This seems to have worked. Thanks again for replying to my post for help. But the problem now seems to be solved.
