My problem is that the highlight will always move to the topmost task for that project. As this has already resulted in my accidentally aborting a couple of tasks, it's frustrating me. Any thoughts? I shoot cancer (686 Magnum) |

Not sure if this is the solution that will work but it is worth a try and won't harm anything... Check to see if you accidentally activated SCROLL LOCK (ScrLk)on your keyboard... Depending on your keyboard layout it's usually located between the PrntScrn and Pause/Break keys by the NumLock and has an indicator light above it.... If light is on ScrLk is active. Turn it off by pressing the ScrLk key once and the light will go out indicating this (ancient DOS) "feature" is turned off. |

I'm having the same problem with selecting an individual task. (Win7, BOINC 7.6.9(x86), wxWidgets 3.0.1, Logitech K350 keyboard) Toggling scroll lock does not correct. Seems to have occurred after the latest update to BOINC. Have reinstalled/repaired BOINC with no resolution |

I noticed the same behaviour in BOINC Manager 7.6.6 on Linux after I had disabled some columns in the task display. Restoring defaults solved this. What still happens is the display jumping to the end of the list whenever a new task is added. As a side note, I'd like to be able to sort tasks on a column that is disabled. |

I have forwarded this to development, but must say at the same time that I do not see this problem. Can the people with the problem please state which projects they've got added and if they only see it with certain tasks of certain project, or all tasks? Virtualbox or not? On CPU tasks or GPU tasks? |

I have forwarded this to development, but must say at the same time that I do not see this problem. This is how I can reproduce the effect: 1 Select columns -> Defaults (that's all on) 2 Select columns -> deselect Tasks/Name 3 Restart Manager, go to Tasks tab Now if you click on any task, it is first selected. But after a moment it is deselected and the first task of the same project is selected instead. 4 Select columns -> deselect Tasks/Project 5 Restart Manager Same as above, but scratch "same project" Can the people with the problem please state which projects they've got added and if they only see it with certain tasks of certain project, or all tasks? Virtualbox or not? On CPU tasks or GPU tasks? I don't think that matters. Will answer it if you still can't reproduce. Edit: typo |

This is how I can reproduce the effect: Both of those reproduce the reported effect for me too, using BOINC v7.6.9 on Windows/64 Note that to reproduce the second effect, Tasks/Name must still be deselected - Tasks/Project deselected by itself doesn't cause the problem. |

Not sure if I'm seeing the same effect as reported, but for some time I had the issue where if I select an item (task or project) in the interface it will not high lite it unless I select it a second time. Both Windows and Mac. OBW it does select it even though it does not high lite, buttons change. I suspect a missing redraw command somewhere in the select processing, or the redraw is called before the select is applied. Ah, just went back, it only happens if I have switched tabs before I attempt the selection! |

1 Select columns -> Defaults (that's all on) I can reproduce it with this one only on the Tasks tab. I can further reproduce it with Select columns->deselect Projects/Project option and then on the Projects tab. All the rest of the options work for me as is. Reported it to the developers. |

Charlie put in a fix for this problem, I've built and tested the new Manager. I can no longer reproduce the problem. * MGR: fix a bug which made it difficult to select items when certain key fields are hidden (selection would always jump to item in top row). * MGR: simplify my fix of bug which made it difficult to select items when certain columns are hidden. A new build will come out later for Windows and Macintosh. People with Linux best build a new version themselves, or ask their package maintainers to do so. |

I have just updated to 7-6-18 and this issue seems to have stopped. I was Win7 pro x64. Now I am Win 10 pro x64 and the issue still happened when on BOINC 7.6.9. Ageless, thanks for pushing the peanut up the hill. My original post on this issue. https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=10562 Crunching for SCIENCE not CREDITS. |
