GPUGrid.net is back up, but I needed to retry a lot of backed-off comms.

Hi All,

The CPDN project will be going offline today from 16:30 (UK time) onwards this is to perform project maintainence. This downtime is expected to last until Thursday (14th November). If the work is completed prior to this day the project will be restored ahead of schedule.

Best regards,

Andy

Sorry, should have posted this when I posted it on the CPDN site this morning.
Home page is up but everything else I have checked is down.

Zips are uploading still but one of the upload servers is full so will be getting backoff messages till space has been freed. (This has been started.)

Einstein has reported an on purpose TEMPORARY upload/download stoppage.
It has been imposed by the project as part of coping with an overload problem.issue ...

The O2MDF search on GPU(s) is producing results at a rate that we didn't expect. As a result, the file system of our upload server ("einstein4") is completely flattened out, and a number of processes (including the validators) are standing on each others feet to get their share, further slowing things down. To make things worse, the file system is filling up, because also file deletion doesn't work as fast as it should. For now I disabled further uploads (and some other background processes) until things have settled and cooled down a bit.

Gerasim has gone??

Due to "permanent IP address for Gerasim from 77.41.30.201 to a new 79.164.218.120".
Attempts are being made to get it back up and running, hopefully a few hours, a bit longer if it takes longer !

CPDN both main site and testing down.

Main site went down as I was posting a reply to q query from a new cruncher so I now have to wait till it comes back up again to see if my answer made it or not. https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com agrees with me.

Sorta kinda, not a complete outage, but worth a mention anyway:

Dear all,

I wanted to let you know that we have been advised that the Korean server (upload7) will be shut down over this weekend, due to power supply maintenance and construction, scheduled by University staff there. It may be worth posting something to the boards to this affect as there are some open batches going there. These are batches 849, 850. 851 (which are nearly complete, and I may just close) and batch 866 which is around 45% complete.

Best wishes,
Sarah

SRBase is down due a broken database, a recovery is not possible anymore. I will setup an older backup.
Pls stop all the work.

I haven't been able to contact GPUGrid the entire day today. All uploads are not going through and backing off.

Yet I have found no posts from anyone complaining about the website server gone missing.

The domain is pingable and traceable though.

Anyone hear what is going on?

No. My last successful contact was just before 21:00 UTC last night. They're in Barcelona, so make that 22:00 local. My guess is that the server crashed when there was no-one in the lab, and they're just now coming in to a cold office and beginning to wonder what happened.

Edit - bits of it are working again, but they still have more to fix.

All my backed off uploads cleared overnight. I can access the project this morning. Only a couple of posts questioning if anyone else had issues.

Toni simply stated they had an outage. And news of it was only posted via a Twitter tweet. I don't tweet and all my Googling never found that post.
