Is SEITI@Home not putting out any more tasks?

In my Boinc Manager is says "Won't get new tasks?" This has been this way for about a week that I noticed, maybe more.

No, that's a local button you've clicked (quite possibly by mistake - it's easy to do while you drag the mouse pointer).

Click on the SETI@home line where you read "Won't get new tasks", to highlight it.

In the list of commands to the left, the third one down should now read "Allow new tasks". Click it once, and the wording should change to "No new tasks": the "Won't get new tasks" message will also disappear.

BOINC should now request new work within a few seconds, possibly up to a minute. If nothing happens after that, click the 'Update' button.

But be aware that SETI is planned to be offline tomorrow (Saturday 27 June) for electrical supply maintenance, and seems to be running down the stock of tasks ready to send in anticipation. For further details, visit the SETI website.

Thanks, that worked. Now will see when any new tasks come in.

Quake Catcher's Network outage message:
Carl Christensen wrote:
The QCN servers will be packed up at Stanford next Monday (July 13th) and FedEx'd overnight to CalTech. It is hoped that by the end of next week the servers will be online at CalTech and the project will begin running again. We are forwarding our Internet DNS from Stanford to CalTech so that machines connected to "qcn.stanford.edu" will be routed to the new server location automatically (probably qcn.caltech.edu). More information will be sent once things are back up and running - but it's most likely the project will be down the week of July 13th. You shouldn't have to do anything - BOINC will automatically connect once it detects the servers are back up.

Anyone have any information about Convector@Home? Have they gone under, or are they just down for maintenance/vacation/other?

Anyone have any information about Convector@Home?

Have not seen an active web site since March 2015 (offline since 2015-03-03 09:02:59) and no works was being sent on regular basis since December 2014 or early January 2015.

BoincStats.com retired the project for stats tracking in May 2015.

It should be listed on the "BOINC officially retired" list by now.

Seti Front page
SETI@home Network Outage (August 17-18)
Due to network and DNS upgrades/changes we will be shutting down the projects tonight (August 17th) and we will be offline until the next morning. 17 Aug 2015, 18:30:07 UTC

I assume that includes BOINC as well.

Extra info.

Matt Lebofsky wrote:
Just so you know the general plan (though we're not promising anything, hence why I'm keeping the official outage window vague). All times PDT.

August 17:
* 4:45pm: shut down projects.
* 5pm: DNS changes at the .ssl.berkeley.edu level
(at this point most everything, including the web site, will be unreachable)

August 18:
* 3am: DNS changes at the .berkeley.edu level
* 5:45am: Jeff and I start changing all the network configs on our systems
* 6am: Campus starts doing all its router/firewall changes
* 7am: Solve any problems
* 9am: If all goes well, start the regular Tuesday outage
* ?: Bring everything back on line

I wish we had access to our own DNS maps, but we don't, and this is the tightest coordination we could do with the SSL DNS manager and the campus DNS manager.

POGS Skynet...

Started sending out work again on the 19th. On the morning of the 20th, I saw that their servers weren't responding. The whole POGS system is down (not just the BOINC portion) although the main Skynet site is up and appears unaffected.

I am guessing a serious crash at this point being out of commission for almost 2 days now... (When are they going to finally equip servers with air bags??)

Hey guys,

That's correct the NFS server had a complete meltdown over the weekend, (something about not enough beer) Kevin is currently on the scene and attempting to resuscitate it.

If all else fails we have regular backups so we will be back soon.
