beef @ home has been down at least 12 hours now.
When attempting to access web site I get a "502 Bad Gateway Error" message.

Looks like they just needed to update their website icon for Pride Month or something. Reachable again.

Cosmology@home seems to be down.
I first had a number of bad WUs recently (with frequent computation errors), and since a few days , I failed to upload any of my completed WUs.
Can't reach or ping there server either.

Does somebody know what's going on with ibercivis project?
Actually it should be online after maintenance for a while. But it isn't.
In BoincStats it now appears as retired project.

Did they completely shut down forever?

Obviously you didn't bother to look in the forums at BOINCstats for a reason:

Time to Retire Ibercivis
As posted by me several days ago >>>
There has been no work sent since early/mid 08/2020 (10 months ago).
There currently is NO BOINC project message boards.
This server could not prove that it is boinc.ibercivis.es; its security certificate expired 266 days ago

Willy, owner/Administrator of BOINCstats agreed and retirement was completed.

When a Project goes "dormant" or the website disappears from the ether, NO ONE knows what is happening with it.

Project owners/Administrator SHOULD COMMUNICATE to it's userbase via the project forums on a regular basis, how else would anyone know what is going on?

Beef@Home is off line and the last Tasks in the field finished coming in on 6/12. Does anyone know any additional information regarding the project ?

When the project website when quiet prior to the current one I asked about it on its sister project (Minecraft) I was directed to the DISCORD site chat for follow up.

Since I didn't want to add my personal info to yet another "chat/social media" site I could not get access to their postings. Maybe someone else can login and see what is happening and post here?

Edit to add post link @Minecraft

As far as I can tell from the Discord server, Beef@home was just a test server and not a real project.

Keith you paint a pretty strong picture for removing Beef@home from our production PC's, now that it has stopped, and for submitting it for removal from BOINCstats acitve projects.

Thanks

Interesting how many people jumped onto an ephemeral project without really seeing what their backstory was about.

Plenty of well established and pertinent projects to join and crunch for.

Hi All,

Just to let you all know that there will be a period of downtime for the CPDN services tomorrow (Monday 28th June) and on Tuesday (29th June). On Monday, the downtime will start at 2pm (UK time) and end at 4pm (UK time). On Tuesday the CPDN services are expected to be disrupted for the majority of the working day, this disruption will start at 9:30am (UK time). Both downtimes have been requested by the Engineering Department IT Support, in order for them to conduct work on network switches and firewalls. We apologies for any inconvenience.

Best regards,

Andy Bowery

And it seems like Wednesday is the new Tuesday. Got two new tasks allocated, but:

30/06/2021 16:11:36 | climateprediction.net | Started download of ic_N144_200309_000045.nc.gz
30/06/2021 16:11:36 | climateprediction.net | [http] [ID#24101] Info: Trying 129.67.193.131:80...
30/06/2021 16:11:36 | climateprediction.net | [http] [ID#24101] Info: TCP_NODELAY set
30/06/2021 16:13:37 | climateprediction.net | [http] [ID#24101] Info: Connection timed out after 120664 milliseconds
30/06/2021 16:13:37 | climateprediction.net | [http] [ID#24101] Info: Closing connection 21319
30/06/2021 16:13:37 | climateprediction.net | [http] HTTP error: Timeout was reached
30/06/2021 16:13:37 | climateprediction.net | Temporarily failed download of ic_N144_200309_000045.nc.gz: transient HTTP error
Couldn't connect to cpdn.org, either - but that's come back up. I'll retry the downloads.

Edit: Something fishy here. I had nine files failing to download, each with their own two minute timeout (default for Linux). When I retried a single download (all individual file delays had cleared by then), four files disappeared from the list without appearing in the event log, and the other five went through the two-minute timeout routine. Both tasks - one N144, one N216 - are marked as download failures.
