I saw this was recently added to the BOINC projects list, but it looks like nothing has been done with this project.

Are there any plans or was this abandoned?

I just added the project as well, and for the same reason. The idea for the project is not new, it has "been around" for a year or more, don't recall exactly. Perhaps it is a back burner job. The project popping up on the projects list may be an indication of some progress I suppose.

I can't say BOINC Central (BC) is dead. It seems never to have been alive. Looks pretty much like a 'boilerplate' placeholder.

I've suspended BC, and turned of Fetching new tasks.

In a few months of 'No Activity'. I'll likely remove myself, and remove any 'clutter' on my machine. :(

It is not doing any harm for me sitting in my project list doing nothing. I would say, though, doing nothing is something it does very competantly...

How to delete an existing Account?

If I recall correctly, you can't delete an account once created as it would mess up some of the accounting around any assigned tasks.

Have any science project signed up for BOINC Central?

We are approaching the end of the projects second year of "operation", still nothing.

Did they delete the years prior because I was proud of the universe at home work from years prior. I must have been mistaken for someone who vanished .

This project, (BOINC Central), has never issued any work, so there would have been no work to delete from here. Universe@Home is "still running" in quotes because it is not issuing work at the moment, Krzysztof, the leader over there, sadly died, you can read more about it here.https://universeathome.pl/universe/
The latest is that the project is to be taken over by Prof. Tomasz Bulik.
