General feeling that projects should provide more timely news about their research progress - Idea: get universities to distribute BOINC (preconfigured to your project, if you want) on the CD-ROM they hand out to students at start of term - WCG mechanisms: partner program find partner organizations (e.g. United Way) partner is listed briefly on WCG partner links to WCG from their site quarterly newsletter press releases (diminishing returns) head-to-head challenges: one team can challenge another for either most crunching or most new members in a fixed period of time - project web sites should describe their basic science, but should also relate their basic science to the technology or medicine that might come out of it. Should say what you COULD accomplish. Need to upscale expectations of volunteer computing
