= Bossa = Bossa is an open-source software framework for ''distributed thinking'' - the use of volunteers on the Internet to accomplish a set of tasks that use human cognition, knowledge, or intelligence. Bossa lets you create a '''project web site''' where volunteers go to perform tasks. This site is hosted on your own Linux server. Bossa uses [BoincBasics BOINC Basics], which provides web identity and community features on your project web site. All you need to supply are PHP scripts to generate, show, and handle tasks. Bossa helps you deal with the variance of volunteer skill. It maintains an estimate of the skill level of each volunteer, and ensures that, for each task, there is a 'consensus' of compatible results among a sufficiently large set of volunteers. Typically you'll want to have a 'training course' that volunteers must complete before performing tasks. You can do this using [BoltIntro Bolt].
