Forum Preferences, extra boxes?

Description

The question is, what's up with all the extra boxes on the new forum preferences?

Starting from the top down, there's one at the very top of the page, behind the box that says Edit messages board preferences. Then there's two of them behind the options for the avatar and there's a smaller one above the filtering option. I thought the latter was a checkbox, but it isn't. ;)

Are they to fill space, or for future options?
