8:03 PM UTC, July 15 2006
If the organisation don't want to spend time on a good client, i don't suspect much of the project and run an other project
10:45 PM UTC, July 16 2006
The other way was much simplier & easier
6:23 AM UTC, July 18 2006
Can't run, glibc 2.2.5 based system
7:49 AM UTC, July 18 2006
i'm running an other project not on boinc
4:01 AM UTC, July 24 2006
just found
7:46 AM UTC, July 24 2006
Finished after SETI
11:58 PM UTC, July 24 2006
I didn't like the "self updating part".
10:53 AM UTC, July 25 2006
forgot pass word
4:00 AM UTC, July 28 2006
extra stress on the computer
4:51 AM UTC, August 01 2006
just got on line
11:08 AM UTC, August 01 2006
i run folding@home
5:47 AM UTC, August 02 2006
never before knew about it
8:25 AM UTC, August 10 2006
I was completely unable to get it to run. I was a 'classic' Seti. Couldn't find password, between my first and second attempts to sign up as new I was booted. Later told: you can't sign up with that address, we already have a member with that address. And you are confirming a menbership I don't have. BOINC was a really really bad idea. A friend who was also classic (my urging) did manage to run it........sometimes. He said he had nothing but problems and finally gave up: after a month - as I did after an hour. Is there anyway to get to you without BOINC?
5:43 AM UTC, August 11 2006
Frustrated 6 year SETI contributor
7:41 PM UTC, August 12 2006
i didn`t recovered my classic account
4:42 AM UTC, August 13 2006
I switched computers and changed e-mail addresses/passwords and couldn't find old passwords. I had over SETI 2000 hours on the old version
5:35 AM UTC, August 13 2006
The principle of running an application to run an application.
3:31 PM UTC, August 15 2006
the old set site lost my login data and i lost my rating
2:44 PM UTC, August 24 2006
i didn't know it existed until now
6:23 PM UTC, August 27 2006
I don't allow anyone to put anything on my computer through updates without my specific approval for EACH change. Who do you think you are? Microsoft?!
8:43 PM UTC, August 31 2006
I didn't know.
9:28 AM UTC, September 19 2006
ich faul war aber jetzt ist die Zeit reif :D
10:47 AM UTC, September 28 2006
В момент создания BOINC уже участвовал в проектах, не использующих его.
7:57 PM UTC, October 11 2006
cannot/no desire to install BOINC; S@H could execute discretely, run as Windows service, migrate/move/copy files across many computers or folders for multiple processors
8:00 PM UTC, October 11 2006
See below
8:01 PM UTC, October 11 2006
No Irix clients
8:43 PM UTC, October 11 2006
understood old version dont understand this
9:15 PM UTC, October 11 2006
no easy way to run invisbly on large windows network
9:24 PM UTC, October 11 2006
The way that support for SETI "Classic" was handled really, really, really turned me off.
10:48 PM UTC, October 11 2006
I liked the work unit setup in the original SETI. I do not like the setup in BOINC
10:50 PM UTC, October 11 2006
I couldn't determine how to link my 'classic' credit - are the years I spent crunching gone?
10:57 PM UTC, October 11 2006
disk failure; power utilization
11:22 PM UTC, October 11 2006
I could not see how to set different settings on different computers but have them all credit to one SETI account as I had with Seti classic
11:25 PM UTC, October 11 2006
I didn't like the termination of the old SETI@Home project and how it was terminated
12:23 AM UTC, October 12 2006
concerned about OS stability effects
12:38 AM UTC, October 12 2006
Seti@home's severe absense in taking care of cheating on Seti Classic!
1:05 AM UTC, October 12 2006
it is an installed app instead of a standalone (like seti@home was). I keep my computer VERY clean and don't want unnecessary junk installing.
1:31 AM UTC, October 12 2006
I was happy to caal it quits at the end of the old Seti program, I now turn my PC off!
2:12 AM UTC, October 12 2006
Changed computing habits (turned off PC's)
2:24 AM UTC, October 12 2006
it lacks elegance
2:41 AM UTC, October 12 2006
Credits (work units) don't transfer
3:09 AM UTC, October 12 2006
Needed resources for my own projects
3:18 AM UTC, October 12 2006
you killed the classic seti stats
3:45 AM UTC, October 12 2006
I liked the old SETI client
I didn't have time to migrate to the new environment (BOINC). So, I decided to give up my SETI@home participation.
4:40 AM UTC, October 12 2006
I don't know what it is
4:56 AM UTC, October 12 2006
I stopped Seti@Home at about 95000 hours when you shut down the original site. I am not interested in BOINC.
5:28 AM UTC, October 12 2006
Red Hat 6.2
5:56 AM UTC, October 12 2006
mir die benutzungsvereinbarung im gegensatz zu setiathome nicht gefaellt.
6:30 AM UTC, October 12 2006
I don't want to run BOINC. I ran seti@home and they shut down the program and suggested I might be interested in BOINC instead.
6:40 AM UTC, October 12 2006
A previous seti infected my computers
7:15 AM UTC, October 12 2006
Auf Gentoo Linux gilt boinc als "masked"
7:16 AM UTC, October 12 2006
I am only interested in SETI. Too much garbage in the way.
7:20 AM UTC, October 12 2006
I ran s@h for years. With the switch to BOINC, past credits did not carry over. I was p'd off.
8:19 AM UTC, October 12 2006
was not happy with the change
8:21 AM UTC, October 12 2006
It's just another one of those programs that takes over my machine
8:36 AM UTC, October 12 2006
I only wanted to run for SETI
9:37 AM UTC, October 12 2006
I didn't mind running the seti@home program, had bad experience with BONIC like programs. I don't trust them
9:51 AM UTC, October 12 2006
Never bothered seems to be too many choices to make
9:55 AM UTC, October 12 2006
no service/commandline version
10:00 AM UTC, October 12 2006
I have old MacOS on most computers I work with and can't update/upgrade, you shouldn't stop the older versions running
10:08 AM UTC, October 12 2006
More complicated than the old SETI@Home client
10:23 AM UTC, October 12 2006
I am under the impression that the projects are chosen by someone else. I want control over what my computer participates in.
10:31 AM UTC, October 12 2006
Not allowed-Clould have continued with the old!
10:46 AM UTC, October 12 2006
electricity bill became way to high
11:11 AM UTC, October 12 2006
I first want to see results of my old Seti@home activity, 5 years of computertime should be awarded with some feedback. The old seti@home page had a results so far, I want to see my results so far.
11:14 AM UTC, October 12 2006
The old high scores from SETI for my domain is not available in BOINC.
11:30 AM UTC, October 12 2006
stromverbrauch zu hoch
12:02 PM UTC, October 12 2006
Only interested in SETI@Home. Don't need or want the other stuff. BOINC seems to be very burdensome and obfuscated.
12:19 PM UTC, October 12 2006
I did not want to change from original SETI@home setup
12:27 PM UTC, October 12 2006
OpenVMS/Alphaserver
12:34 PM UTC, October 12 2006
I do NOT want anyone accessing my computer when they feel like it.
12:36 PM UTC, October 12 2006
i prfered the command line version of seti
1:03 PM UTC, October 12 2006
I only want to run the seti screensaver
1:03 PM UTC, October 12 2006
Never got around to switching from the original client.
1:10 PM UTC, October 12 2006
sneakernet only access to compute farm
1:22 PM UTC, October 12 2006
It used up too much computer resources, was intrusive, and I despised the format and software. I cancelled my SETI account as soon as the BOINC software and format was implemented. I took offense at some of the projects included within BOINC.
1:35 PM UTC, October 12 2006
Also, the applications use need more power than I have available to use.
1:47 PM UTC, October 12 2006
Can't leave computer on after work hours
1:58 PM UTC, October 12 2006
i wasnt aware of it until now
2:39 PM UTC, October 12 2006
What's BOINC?
3:08 PM UTC, October 12 2006
After 6000+ seti classics, I got tired of doing seti
3:11 PM UTC, October 12 2006
SETI no longer worked with Mac OS-9
3:24 PM UTC, October 12 2006
I used the old seti@home, but when BONIC came out, it didn't support macs
3:48 PM UTC, October 12 2006
lazy
3:53 PM UTC, October 12 2006
program is too big to download (dialup)
4:20 PM UTC, October 12 2006
electricity
4:30 PM UTC, October 12 2006
didn't want to install something else
4:34 PM UTC, October 12 2006
Too much like work. I didn't mind running Seti@Home for you, but BOINC costs too much.
4:44 PM UTC, October 12 2006
4:53 PM UTC, October 12 2006
AIX
5:19 PM UTC, October 12 2006
I switched to a non-SETI computing project before BOINC
5:44 PM UTC, October 12 2006
My old Seti client just stopped getting new WU's, and I never bothered to find out about Body Odor, Incorporated. (What ever that is!) But with an acronym like that, I'll definately look into it!
6:01 PM UTC, October 12 2006
Did not know it existed
6:12 PM UTC, October 12 2006
noch nie davon gehört
6:24 PM UTC, October 12 2006
It wasn't available for OpenVMS (Alpha)
6:34 PM UTC, October 12 2006
als hintergrundprozess in der cmd-shell
6:35 PM UTC, October 12 2006
What's BOINC?
7:22 PM UTC, October 12 2006
meine alten Ergebnisse keine Berücksichtigung fanden.
7:27 PM UTC, October 12 2006
no NetWare client
7:42 PM UTC, October 12 2006
I predate BOINC
7:43 PM UTC, October 12 2006
My impression is that it will be used for more than just the SETI project, which is not what I want, I'm not allowed to run it on my work computer, and I haven't had *time* to install it on my home computer, nor the inclination to make time if it's just going to use my computer for whatever it wants and not what I want.
7:47 PM UTC, October 12 2006
inital project list seems to have commercial interests on it
7:52 PM UTC, October 12 2006
could not get it to run
8:06 PM UTC, October 12 2006
Install was too complicated.
8:26 PM UTC, October 12 2006
I stopped using SETI@Home before it began using BOINC
8:29 PM UTC, October 12 2006
Was not willing to spend the time to figure out how to get it to work for AIX.
9:33 PM UTC, October 12 2006
Only interested in SETI, not Boinc in general
10:30 PM UTC, October 12 2006
you changed your focus - I changed mine - felt betrayed
10:50 PM UTC, October 12 2006
I have lost my password & do not know how to transfer previous work over from old SETI to new SETI
10:52 PM UTC, October 12 2006
I'm not interested in running a program that works this way. If I can't run a background task as a service, I am not going to do it.
11:19 PM UTC, October 12 2006
the seti client for PPC was far too slow, so I run Folding@Home
11:28 PM UTC, October 12 2006
don't like it, prefer seti application
11:51 PM UTC, October 12 2006
Doesn't work on older Macs
12:32 AM UTC, October 13 2006
I felt like discontinuing SETI
1:15 AM UTC, October 13 2006
I've changed computers and never since have tried.
1:45 AM UTC, October 13 2006
Bad BOINC feedback on user forums
2:04 AM UTC, October 13 2006
I was involved in SETI for years but never heard of BOINC
2:05 AM UTC, October 13 2006
I was never invited
3:30 AM UTC, October 13 2006
Was interested in seti only.
3:45 AM UTC, October 13 2006
missed the old system for seti@home
4:24 AM UTC, October 13 2006
I signed up for SETI@home years ago, and stopped helping after that. Never heard of BOINC.
4:43 AM UTC, October 13 2006
Weil ich bisher die Zeit nicht hatte, umzustellen.
5:14 AM UTC, October 13 2006
I never tried to install it
7:06 AM UTC, October 13 2006
I wasn't aware of the project
7:32 AM UTC, October 13 2006
Couldn't be bothered upgrading from SETI@Home
8:10 AM UTC, October 13 2006
bisher noch kein Prog geladen
10:10 AM UTC, October 13 2006
I was not happy with the changes after running SETI.
10:53 AM UTC, October 13 2006
After U changed the code in seti, so it performed slower, just to slow down traffic on your server, We all in my group totally lost confidence in your projects
3:14 PM UTC, October 13 2006
I used the cmd-line SETI versions. No interest in installing an app.
4:20 PM UTC, October 13 2006
All of our computers at work recently switched over to essentially dummy terminals and I don't have permission to run unauthorized programs
5:18 PM UTC, October 13 2006
ich es umständlich und resourcenfressend empfinde.
5:44 PM UTC, October 13 2006
No me gustó la interface
5:44 PM UTC, October 13 2006
needed a central server like SetiQueue
6:40 PM UTC, October 13 2006
There are no Open Source projects.
8:08 PM UTC, October 13 2006
Did not know about it
8:09 PM UTC, October 13 2006
I need more help for installing
8:42 PM UTC, October 13 2006
keine Lust auf Umstieg von der alten Seti-SW - BOINC-SW ist mir zu gross
8:44 PM UTC, October 13 2006
Unattended downloads, Bad user attitudes / atmosphere
9:47 PM UTC, October 13 2006
BOINC is gay
9:56 PM UTC, October 13 2006
I started caring about the temperature of my equipment around the time SETI moved to BOINC
10:23 PM UTC, October 13 2006
den umstieg ncht mitbekommen habe
11:10 PM UTC, October 13 2006
This is the first I heard of it.
11:26 PM UTC, October 13 2006
Never heard about it till now!
1:51 AM UTC, October 14 2006
I was fine with SETI. You changed everything, and made it so I had to spend time problem solving/learning BOINC. Go fly a friggin' kite!!!!!!!
3:02 AM UTC, October 14 2006
It sucks.
4:15 AM UTC, October 14 2006
I didn't try it.
6:58 AM UTC, October 14 2006
Violates security policy, unlike the old version of Seti@home
9:53 AM UTC, October 14 2006
I got really pissed that all the time i had put into the previous seti was going to be lost
10:36 AM UTC, October 14 2006
Oh lookie here after just pulling the plug on classic without any thought about the people like me who spent years building up the data crunched by having our comps on 24/7 spending all that money on electricity and just saying well were upgrading tuff shit on all your time, and you get to go back to a big goose egg, NOW you clowns are crying for people to help out, and I see NOW you made it possible to link up the old info from our old accounts, in your photos having the Champaign celebrating the end of classic to bad you did not see all the pissed off devoted people that were left behind like yesterdays trash. Ya well I sent you idiots an e-mail when you pulled the plug on classic stating that by making me losing all my numbers and having to start over you lost me as a participant, and it still stands so now you can suck on the big fat goose egg you left me and the thousands others.
11:14 AM UTC, October 14 2006
i cannor why not run
11:56 AM UTC, October 14 2006
win98 was not supported and in ubuntu i couldnt run it
12:37 PM UTC, October 14 2006
Never heard of it, but I wouldn't run it anyway.
1:30 PM UTC, October 14 2006
dropped seti due to compuiter crashes
1:41 PM UTC, October 14 2006
ich kannte es nicht
1:47 PM UTC, October 14 2006
I didn't know it existed and ran the old SETI@home last that I ran any. But then again I haven't lived in my apartment for over a year, and I've only had access to a shared computer during that time...
2:10 PM UTC, October 14 2006
even more complicated
2:59 PM UTC, October 14 2006
I liked the earlier SETI@home version better
3:27 PM UTC, October 14 2006
I lost my Seti account password. I had changed internet service providers and I could not retreive my password and could not change my email address in my Seti account. Seti will only email account passwords to the email address on file. Because of that, you could not credit me with years of completed work units. I did not want to start over. My old address on my Seti account was raygin@worldnet.att.net.
3:33 PM UTC, October 14 2006
If you want the use of my computing power, then make it easy to do so. I've tired of computer related activities.
3:41 PM UTC, October 14 2006
Sir Arthur C. Clarke and Dan Werthimer, if all you needed was my money or my computer's spare time, I would be happy to donate. In the past, I certainly have done so. I would do so again, in the same circumstances. However, BOINC assumes a level of control of my computer that I *WILL NOT* tolerate or accept. I regret the choices made by the drivers of the BOINC project. If they had not done so, you would have no need to send this letter, at least not to me. Greed is ugly to watch at any time. Greed for power is about the most objectionable form of greed, to me. Again, please accept my regrets, caused by the greed for power of BOINC project people.
3:47 PM UTC, October 14 2006
too complicated
4:33 PM UTC, October 14 2006
I preferred the simplicity of the original SETI Client
4:41 PM UTC, October 14 2006
I am still running seti@home and have no idea what BOINC is or where to get it.
5:06 PM UTC, October 14 2006
Classic was fine for me
5:17 PM UTC, October 14 2006
until now no DSL connection
5:18 PM UTC, October 14 2006
Keine Wechselinfo von SETI erhalten ...
5:19 PM UTC, October 14 2006
Keine Wechselinfo von SETI erhalten ...
6:10 PM UTC, October 14 2006
Dont see why another layer of complication had to be added to the Seti@home package !!
7:32 PM UTC, October 14 2006
I have too many concerns about the problems it seems to have running on various versions of Mac OS X. I can't afford problems.
8:18 PM UTC, October 14 2006
I was concerned about running on a laptop
8:20 PM UTC, October 14 2006
Decided to donate time to folding@home
9:24 PM UTC, October 14 2006
i have not heard of it before i used to run the seti program bu i understood that the project had finished due to financil problems
10:03 PM UTC, October 14 2006
ne me souviens pas de quoi il s'agit ?
10:06 PM UTC, October 14 2006
ich das programm nicht kannte
10:17 PM UTC, October 14 2006
Ich mochte den alten SETI-Client lieber. BOINC finde ich sehr unübersichtlich und unattraktiv. BOINC werde ich nicht benutzen.
10:20 PM UTC, October 14 2006
Your website was always inaccessible (down, busy or for whatever reason), so I was never able to to find out anything when SETI@home folded, so I gave up - what is BOINC????
10:31 PM UTC, October 14 2006
what the fuck is boinc
11:37 PM UTC, October 14 2006
I was a significant contributor to Seti@home pre BOINC. There was only feedback in the form of certificates for completed work units, which was disappointing, however competing with people in the same location gave some interest. In my opinion the introduction of BOINC with no notification, and the loss of the previous statistics and ability to monitor progress against the people who were competing was very arrogant. This combined with the lack of feedback on the project anyway ensured that my commpting power was withdrawn. I suggest your people should never undertake project management in the commercial work and introduce technology in such a non transparent arrogent manner, as they will have a limited future.
12:01 AM UTC, October 15 2006
I did, when I had w98, but couldn`t get boinc to work on wxp
1:45 AM UTC, October 15 2006
No VMS port available!
2:04 AM UTC, October 15 2006
I didn't care for the additional conditions that came with the install. It's been so long, I can't remember what they were, exactly, but when I checked into the install, I didn't feel it was worth my continued participation.
2:38 AM UTC, October 15 2006
got a girlfriend that was always on the computer !!! after 6 months id forgotten all about it !!!!! was actually thinking about it yesterday and you send me this ????????? hmmmmmm
3:24 AM UTC, October 15 2006
I was happy with seti@home before BOINC, was never consulted about a change, and do not appreciate programs in which I am involved being usurped.
5:14 AM UTC, October 15 2006
Lost inntrest in running my computers all the time.
7:58 AM UTC, October 15 2006
didn't know about the project
8:32 AM UTC, October 15 2006
I run on Macintosh OS9.2
9:20 AM UTC, October 15 2006
I ran seti@home on my computer back in 2003, but switched machines and forgot about it.
9:26 AM UTC, October 15 2006

1:03 PM UTC, October 15 2006

1:11 PM UTC, October 15 2006
I didn't want to have to start over after many years of running SETU@home
1:33 PM UTC, October 15 2006

1:53 PM UTC, October 15 2006
24/7 hardware wear & tear, plus indirect expenses with S@H
2:45 PM UTC, October 15 2006
The classic version is better
3:11 PM UTC, October 15 2006
zu kompliziert, undurchsichtig, seti screensaver war besser!weil in sich geschlossenes projekt
3:11 PM UTC, October 15 2006

3:13 PM UTC, October 15 2006
I moved and didn't reinstall
3:27 PM UTC, October 15 2006

3:37 PM UTC, October 15 2006
Not Mac OSX Jaguar compatable.
3:44 PM UTC, October 15 2006
Switched to running World Community Grid when seti@home tool was replaced with BOINC
4:16 PM UTC, October 15 2006
SETI@home was overheating my notebook PC
4:20 PM UTC, October 15 2006

8:21 PM UTC, October 15 2006
I heard bad things about stability and ease of use compared to the older software.
8:59 PM UTC, October 15 2006
Lazy: how does this work? (I ended up loading the World Community Grid in Apr 06). I'll load BOINC on my other computer, if I get around to it.
9:27 PM UTC, October 15 2006
I was changing to Mac OS X & had other things on my mind!
9:44 PM UTC, October 15 2006
couldn't get it to work/install....
10:06 PM UTC, October 15 2006
you should never have gone to boinc
10:23 PM UTC, October 15 2006
I don't have the software
10:50 PM UTC, October 15 2006
New system appeared to network with other users causing security concerns.
11:02 PM UTC, October 15 2006
Mac OS9.2
11:10 PM UTC, October 15 2006
I didn't have/take time to get it set up.
11:12 PM UTC, October 15 2006
I had been running the SETI at home software and it was annoying to have to install new software to do the same thing.
11:57 PM UTC, October 15 2006
I object to putting needless junk on my machine
12:52 AM UTC, October 16 2006
I know not about boinc - I ran SETI@home in its early versions, but could not upgrade my old PC, and I never loaded the new version when I finally purchased a new PC until recently, I have been a tech-laggard in PC environments and power)
1:34 AM UTC, October 16 2006
didn't know anything about it
2:44 AM UTC, October 16 2006
Did not wish to expose my computers to other projects/possible hacking. Insufficient research int BOINC exploits.
3:15 AM UTC, October 16 2006
I just wanted SETI@home.
4:12 AM UTC, October 16 2006
Used Seti@home prior to BOINC
4:55 AM UTC, October 16 2006
the old Seti@home ended and I was never notified that it was starting up again
5:04 AM UTC, October 16 2006
didn't know
6:28 AM UTC, October 16 2006
The old software was much easier to use/install no mucking around with projects. You just downloaded the software and off you went. I would be willing to bet that you have lost many a participant with this new BOINC. Good luck, Erik
7:04 AM UTC, October 16 2006
i have to start from scratch again and i had a huge amount of data units done on seti clasic but that credit means nothing when i switch to boinc. i feel like i have wasted my time running seti
7:49 AM UTC, October 16 2006
I was concerned about the cpu load after having had problems with Classic SETI.
Reminder to assist was a little late - downloading now!!
8:20 AM UTC, October 16 2006
my electricity bill explodes if I do
8:21 AM UTC, October 16 2006
didn't know there was a new onw
8:56 AM UTC, October 16 2006
No support for platform AIX?
9:01 AM UTC, October 16 2006
ich den alten seti@home client nutzen möchte
10:28 AM UTC, October 16 2006
liked the old SETI better
10:33 AM UTC, October 16 2006
It was too problematic transfering my progress from seti@home version 1
11:14 AM UTC, October 16 2006
There is OS/2-Version available
11:24 AM UTC, October 16 2006
Bionic is CRAP! I would still be involved if I were able to use the original program!(seti@home)
11:30 AM UTC, October 16 2006
mir Seti besser gefiel
11:32 AM UTC, October 16 2006
je ne sais pas parler en aglais et tout est en anglais pouriez vous faire des version en français merci
11:35 AM UTC, October 16 2006
My interest was only in SETI, no other projects
11:37 AM UTC, October 16 2006
When you switched to BOINC you killed any chance I had since I use OpenVMS systems for this type of thing.
11:54 AM UTC, October 16 2006
I was too much involved in computing WU's for Seti@Home, using four computers for nothing else. So I stopped and use my computers again for other things like getting to know Linux. Another thing that made me stop is Bush threatening to invade Holland when criminal American soldiers were brought to justice before the ICC in Den Haag (The Hague): this threat against a country (Holland) which was the first ever to recognize the USA (and suffered for it badly), and has always been a friend of the USA, impressed me deeply....
12:08 PM UTC, October 16 2006
my pc was not powerful enough
12:33 PM UTC, October 16 2006
i didn't hear about it till now
1:38 PM UTC, October 16 2006
you told me to stop SETI because you were going to BOINC. PERIOD
1:47 PM UTC, October 16 2006
I HAD TO QUIT PROJECT WHEN U SWITCHED TO BIONIC
2:06 PM UTC, October 16 2006
All my spare cycles are dedicated to FAH.
2:07 PM UTC, October 16 2006
I can't remember the web address after I changed my computer.
2:16 PM UTC, October 16 2006
is answer in question 2
2:21 PM UTC, October 16 2006
Helping Seti was fun, I did not wish to help other that can turn profit from my computer work or help not so honest people to turn my computer in a box to help find TV Encription code
3:26 PM UTC, October 16 2006
the transition was done poorly and all credit for previous activity was lost. No desire to start over
3:30 PM UTC, October 16 2006
I lost my computer before it came out and just haven't set it up on this one yet.
4:30 PM UTC, October 16 2006

6:13 PM UTC, October 16 2006

6:41 PM UTC, October 16 2006

I ahve been ill and not using my PC.
8:39 PM UTC, October 16 2006
conflict with other programs
8:49 PM UTC, October 16 2006
I Use Mac OS9 - and was told when BOINC first started that this machine was not compatitble with BOINC. I kinda don't think I'm going to buy a new computer just to run SETI.
9:07 PM UTC, October 16 2006
Changed Computers
9:49 PM UTC, October 16 2006
My computer is a Pentium Pro 200MHz and is below the BOINC minimum
10:06 PM UTC, October 16 2006
My home computer has screensaver problems and I had to disable the screensaver mode; also, it's an old computer(Windows 95).
10:33 PM UTC, October 16 2006
confused about how to use it
10:41 PM UTC, October 16 2006
Wanted old SETI processing
10:47 PM UTC, October 16 2006
too lazy to set it up
11:03 PM UTC, October 16 2006
not aware of it before now
11:35 PM UTC, October 16 2006
Much more complicated than simple seti@home. Much bigger footprint. Much more invasive.
12:09 AM UTC, October 17 2006
Raytheon is very concerned about security.
2:48 AM UTC, October 17 2006
only interested in SETI, not whatever you guys choose.
3:06 AM UTC, October 17 2006
I am running Folding@Home
3:08 AM UTC, October 17 2006
I never heard of it.
4:27 AM UTC, October 17 2006
had account under different email but couldn;t tansfer credits
4:53 AM UTC, October 17 2006
not enough feedback on overall seti project results
6:43 AM UTC, October 17 2006
zu wenig Linux-Unterstützung
7:02 AM UTC, October 17 2006
The last time I ran SETI@HOME it burned an image into my monitor screen
8:06 AM UTC, October 17 2006
it sliped my mind, ill look at it again and install it
8:49 AM UTC, October 17 2006
I did not want to zero credits again. I had forgot my Seti@home password and the old e-mail did not work anymoore. So I could not /did not want to participate in BOINC program.
8:54 AM UTC, October 17 2006
Not compatible with my OS
9:16 AM UTC, October 17 2006
...ich mit der Fragestellung (in englisch) nicht klar komme.
9:24 AM UTC, October 17 2006
I ran seti for years many 1000s of hour and you wrote it all off so I will not run it
10:05 AM UTC, October 17 2006
did not know BOINC untill your email
10:47 AM UTC, October 17 2006
I determined it was a waste of energy (power) to run SETI@home.
11:45 AM UTC, October 17 2006
I bust a gut doing SETI since 1999, but to have all my workunits relegated to 'classic', with not a word of thanks is just an insult. Why should I continue with this? The new website is terrible compared with the old one too - very little in the way of stats, or 'heart'. BOINC is heartless, and not SETI-specific anyway.
1:11 PM UTC, October 17 2006
weil ich nicht wusste, dass es das gibt
1:15 PM UTC, October 17 2006
i lost my password for my seti account
1:28 PM UTC, October 17 2006

it's a pain in the @#$
3:44 PM UTC, October 17 2006
couldn't dowload software
3:57 PM UTC, October 17 2006
I don't know what the screen saver looks like. The screen saver screen is a big attraction in installing BOINC.
3:58 PM UTC, October 17 2006
Da ich noch eiserner Modembesitzer bin, ist mir der Download der Software einfach zu groß. Die Software bei Seti war wesentlich kleiner. Und hat auch funktioniert.
4:26 PM UTC, October 17 2006
Still running MAC OS 9 on that computer
4:54 PM UTC, October 17 2006
Unsure of new downloadable software.
4:56 PM UTC, October 17 2006

7:02 PM UTC, October 17 2006

3:33 PM UTC, October 18 2006

3:47 PM UTC, October 18 2006

Too hard and cumbersome to install !!!
7:34 PM UTC, October 18 2006
Coould not move from original Seti, too much trouble keeping up with changes and passwords and usernames and I just gave up. Tried to keep trsack of my hour under Seti that was a mess too. I would like to participate, let me know mwhen it's not a pain in the neck.

11:03 PM UTC, October 18 2006
Never heard of it.
11:49 PM UTC, October 18 2006
I got frustrated because all my work units would have to be reset (lost) ... there wasn't a record of my password from years ago when I first logged on with a different email address.
12:33 AM UTC, October 19 2006
I got pissed that all the years I was supporting Seti@home, and I couldn't figure out how to transfer my 'work' from that into the new sstem. It looked like i had to start ALL OVER.
2:42 AM UTC, October 19 2006
You lied to me. I found that all the years of results that my computer crunched for Seti@home were disgarded without being added to the advancement of science.
5:39 AM UTC, October 19 2006

You wouldn't transfer my SETI account
5:57 PM UTC, October 21 2006
I signed up for Seti@Home on my computer at work and ran it when I wasn't using the computer. At some point long before BOINC became Seti@Home's software, my law firm's security devices stopped allowing me to run Seti@Home. I have never tried to install BOINC as far as I can recall since I assume my law firm would block it as a supposed "security" problem.
