I am a Ham Radio operator. I love radio of all kinds. I collect radios (old and new, I don't think you can have too many radios), old radio programs, and books about radio. I spend a lot of time listening to, thinking about, or writing about radio. Sadly, for the most part, commercial AM and FM radio in the U.S. has become extremely boring. Tuning across the dial it sounds as if there are only 4 or 5 stations cloned over and over.
I home brew my own beer. My favorite is a pre Prohibition Stock ale. Hops is the word. I love well made, coffee. I enjoy Bluegrass music, and listening to baseball games on the radio. And I have a passion for Dirt Track Auto racing. "If you don't have a little dirt in your beer, you are at the wrong track" I am also interested in Astronomy, and Physics.
Back in the 60's, I was a Radioman on a Submarine while in the U.S. Navy. I am a Plankowner of the USS Haddock SSN621. I spent the last few months I was in the Navy, at ComSubPac, sending out the FOX broadcast. vvv vvv vvv de ysub ysub ysub zbo
I am happily married to a wonderful woman of Irish descent named Glenna. And I have two grown children, four grandchildren, and an 18 year old Lhasa Apso named Amy, that thinks I am her Dad or another dog, or both. (Sadly Amy, a great dog for 18.5 years, went to Dog heaven in January of 2010) |
