I've recently updated to:

7.4.36 (x64)
Service install

And the only project I'm running is as above.

The issue I'm facing is that mouse/trackpad movement doesn't unlock the screen saver. The off switch works though ;)

I'm convinced I've seen this before but the two thoughts; a) don't service install, b) do summat to s@h don't seem to; a) make my synapses fire in the right order or, b) make hits on the inter-web-highway. Suggestions appreciated.

Regards

Me

mouse/trackpad movement

What do you have, a laptop or notebook?
Only a trackpad/touchpad or also a separate mouse?
Which Windows?
In Computer Management->Device Manager->Properties of the mouse/trackpad->Power management, are these allowed to wake the computer up?

Is BOINC set to run based on preferences?

Have you done a full reboot (not sleep or hibernate) since installing v7.4.36, to get boinctray.exe running again?

I'm about 99.9983742901% sure that the Windows installer restarts boinctray.exe these days.

Then I must be the 0.0016257099% case....

I couldn't do an upgrade, because I was already at v7.4.36 and there's nothing newer yet, so I:

Checked boinctray.exe was running
Stopped and exited BOINC, Client and Manager (tray still running)
Uninstalled BOINC (tray not running)
Installed BOINC (tray not running)
Exited Installer (tray not running)
Started Manager (tray not running)
Verified Client and apps running

Still no sign of boinctray.

Note - (1) I didn't install as service, and (2) I didn't allow the installer to start the Manager. Either of those might have changed the outcome - in fact, I'll try 2 now. BRB

Edit - yup, (2) makes a difference. The installer starts boinctray.exe IFF you ask the installer to start BOINC Manager. 99.9983742901% of users must do that.

I have a similar problem when the screen saver loads it locks the computer hard. CTR-ALT-DEL doesn't work I have to push the reset button to get out of it. I was using Virtual Box with BONIC it was trying to make a second network so I uninstalled it left BONIC installed and problem started. So I uninstalled that BONIC, put latest version 7.4.36(x64)wxWidgets Version 3.0.1. on my computer then it started to lock up hard so I tried no screen saver. That stops the locking up but I can not do any serious work units.
Suggestions anybody?
