Hi,

I did a keyword search but found no posts concerning x64. I'm sure this issue has been raised but here I'm reraising it? When can we expect 64bit support for Windows XP x64?

There is someone who is producing 64bit version of BOINC and some project applications, but I don't know off the top of my head who. For Linux there are some.

Yet how many 64bit programs are there already for 64bit Windows?

I run a 64 bit Linux and a 64 bit version of the boinc client and I see a very common problem to all the owners of a AMD64 processor: the boinc client tries to download a 64 bit app, but it's not available.

Yes, I know you can recompile the app (if the source code is available), but, why cannot just download the 32 bit version? it's compatible with the amd64 processors. It should be a fallback option if the 64 bit app isn't available. Or just an option in the general config file where you put the platform you wish to use.

Please, take account on this, there are a lot of people out there with this problem.

Email this problem to the BOINC developers list. This list does need registration of your email address.

I wouldn't mind emailing it, as I am registered there. But I don't run either a 64bit CPU or a 64bit Windows. So I think you can explain it better.

That was exactly my suggestion here. So far, unanswered...
