A few days ago I installed BOINC with VB. Now, my WiFi connection to mobile devices is so slow that it's unusable. I'm only running SETI@home, which doesn't use VB. My question is: Can I uninstall VirtualBox without affecting my project and BOINC Manager?

Yes. And for the next BOINC versions, just take the version without VBox included.
