This is a little history. I have a four-year-old Macbook Pro laptop, running OS X version 10.6.8. I have a one-year-old Kodak ESP 3.2 printer, connected wirelessly to the Macbook Pro. Recently, I think Tuesday March 4, I upgraded BOINC from version 7.0.65 to version 7.2.39. After I did the upgrade, I could not use the printer; the symptom was that wireless communication to the printer would be OK when I turned on the printer but would fail when I tried to print something. I did a Time Machine backup of the current data files. Then I restored an older version of the complete OS X system, both operating system and data files. Then I restored data files from the current Time Machine backup. Since I did the restore, the printer has printed twenty pages, so I think but am not sure that it is working OK. Now I am running BOINC 7.0.65. BOINC is now running tasks which I already completed. I am considering aborting those tasks. Thanks. Bill Glassmire |

Not sure what you did or where it went wrong for you, it appears as if you backed up the wrong directory, or set the wrong backup back. Next time, just backup the data directory, which by default on OS X is at /Library/Application Support/BOINC Data/ As for the printer problem, also not a clue. 7.2.39 did have a lot of problems, 7.2.42 is its replacement. You can see if that one still does so strange. |
