It's up again now. I see a gap in my downloads from 2:20 to 4:42 UTC.

Malaria is back online after a two week hiatus.

Collatz was back online -- for a few days.

It is unreachable now though. Been that way for the past hour or so. (since about noon PST).

Warning: the physics@home website appears to have been hijacked by what appears to be dangerous websites.

It's been down for ages anyway so am assuming the project has died despite what the owner had said a while back.

Can someone enlighten me, SETI@Home appears to be up and I seem to be sending in data, yet I don't seem to be getting any credits on BonicStats.

Is there a problem between SETI and/pr BOINCStat?
Will I get any credits for data sent or should I change the projects I'm working on for now?

My Stat Counter site says that they haven't exported their XML stats in a while so it's some problem at Seti's end.

The Seti Stats have been updated to today, so statistics sites should have the new data soon.

@People in general, will you please stop posting with your signature on in this thread? It's not difficult, just uncheck "Add my signature to this reply" before you hit Post Reply, and else edit your post to take your signature out.

This is my last warning about this in this thread. The next people posting with their signature on will have their post(s) removed.

just a suggestion...

No. If people don't take the time to read the initial post, they won't take the time to read the full thread title either. Or forget about it. Or they won't care. Or they're too much in a hurry. This isn't the first Project outages thread that we have, and in all I requested that people post without their signature. If you still don't know about this, it's time you learn to read.

There are two threads in these forums where we ask this. One is the Project Outage thread, in which we would only like to have news about project outages, and discussions about these outages. The other is the BOINC Development Discussion thread.

Of course, I can just as well forget about the request of not posting with a signature in the next thread. And then I'll ask John McLeod VII to post a couple of times in that thread, with his signature on. Let's see if people can still see the news about the project outages then, or how quick complaints roll in that there's too much scrolling to be done, between single lines of Project X is out.

CPDN is currently down due to what appears to be a VM infrastructure failure. This is unlikely to be fixed until tomorrow.

I thought that we switched over the VM servers because they were more stable and reliable.

Collatz has reverted to unreachable -- he's been having a few issues as he rolls out new hardware and software there.

Faulty logic. As you say below, there are only two threads where you ask people not to post signatures. I only participate in one of them. But I'm in a lot of threads here and at 3 projects' forums, so it's a bit difficult to remember which one thread of all of those is the one where I should omit my signature. I think it's safe to say most of us start reading a thread from where we left off, not from the beginning each time, so we don't constantly see the request for no signatures. Putting "(no signatures)" in the title would be a useful reminder and cut way down on the "problem."

Yes, you can just as well forget it. I don't see what the big deal is anyway. Sure, it's your thread and you can set rules if you want, but my opinion is that this rule is unreasonable.

If signatures really bother you that much, go into your preferences and set them so you don't see signatures. I finally did this, not because they take up so much space but because they take so long to load, especially multiframe .gifs. I thought about writing my own rant about the .gifs that highlight each and every project the user is in, one at a time, that take forever to load. I chose to turn off viewing signatures instead. Otherwise, I sit here waiting for a minute or two for a .gif to load before the page scrolls down to the first new post. But that's an issue across all threads on all boards, not just this thread.

P.S. I noticed while writing this post and previewing it a couple times that every time you hit preview, the check mark reappears in the Add signature box. It's quite possible for someone to uncheck it as they write, then preview and forget to uncheck it again before clicking Post.
