Message 48772 - Posted: 22 Apr 2013, 21:47:40 UTC

I know that BOINC initiates connections to external sites and I need to create a rule to allow this since we're moving from a general "permit all outbound" firewall to filtering all outbound traffic.

Can anyone point me to documentation that tells me what BOINC needs in the way of outbound connections? I'm looking for ports and IP address information. Searching through the messages here has thrown anything up so far.

TIA,
Edmund

The BOINC binary and the BOINC Manager binary need access to each other on TCP port 31416 on localhost (the local computer).
The BOINC binary needs access to the internet on TCP ports 80 and 443.
