He should've been fired as it isn't a bone, but a nerve.

Oh, hi!

So that person that named the funny bone *drip icy glare down nose* the funny bone...

Why did we let them get away with it?

oh dear I forgot to say hello... Hello :)

I'd hit him with my elbow, but it's a bit sore from hitting the desk with it about an hour ago.

And I still say <yaaaaaawwwwwnnnn...>

Hmmmm..
No word on the Seti server meltdown or apparent attempts to correct it yet.
Maybe they are still trying to sort it out.

LOL....about 5 minutes after I posted that, Matt posted a note in NC as follows.

Just so you know we're working on the splitter problem - a new bit of splitter code was put into play yesterday. It was working well enough in beta, but apparently it still wasn't ready for prime time. We have some debugging and cleaning up to do but we'll be back soon enough with more workunits....

And it's made a mess so far....
The kitties have accumulated 696 invalid tasks.

Oh, meow.

Make that 796 invalids as I get up this morning.
Oh well, the kitties will help work them out of the system.

Meow.

And this morning, my invalid count is up to 1049.....
That's a lot of wasted crunching time going down the drain.

Meowsigh.

Doing that much easier: haven't used BOINC the past couple of days, plus when it runs it's only to ask for APs. :)

I have AP set as my primary preference, but accept MB work in times when it is not available.
This is an unusual thingy, and it's not practical with 9 rigs to try to go through and delete the offending WUs.
So I'll just take it in stride.

I think seti just went down and obliterated my caption contest judgement... and it took my browser so long to work out that there was a problem - my back arrow gave me a problem loading page page - which was a bit rude of it I thought...

edit: Yes I should have copied it to the clipboard when the circley thing started circling instead of going to boil the kettle. I know that now...

oh and good evening everyone! :)

Yeah, I learned many years ago to always ctrl+a,c before hitting "post" on a long-winded reply.

Much like getting into the habit of making important data backups after you lose everything once or twice.

Just got home from working OT.
And I see Seti has gone down and come back up.
AND I see MB splitter channels having errors again.

Geez, I hope they are not generating more junk WUs........

Prepare yourselves, UK....LOL.

Meanwhile, back at the kitty crunching farm, the kitties are still clawing their way through the invalid task attack.
Still showing about 1200, and am adding them about as fast as they go away.
The only bright spot is I am starting to see more of them where I am the last entry, thus retiring them from recirculating.
Taking a lot of wasted computing time to do this however......

Have to try to get one rig back in action that has gone unstable and been down for most of the week. Pulling the GPUs to give them a good internal defurring and see if that does the trick.

Meow for now.

Defurring completed. Oh my. The insides of those GPUs were packed with kitty fur. Could not see much through the heat sinks, much less force much cooling air through them.
Rig back up....we'll see if it holds.

Meow!

Methinks it's time for a new kitty for you.

Here, the rig has been up and running since the defurring operation...success!

Still thinking one might adopt me. Some older guy who needs new digs would be great. 2nd & 3rd hand beasts make the best roommates ... Kinda like me, come to think of it:)

Yes, some of those who have been bandied about can be the most appreciative when they finally fine their forever home.
Visit the shelters once in a while and test drive a few kitties...LOL.
