And then the BOINC domain had a bit of downtime as well. No explanation (as of yet).

Hope that means an early end to the outrage, but, it was a three day weekend in the USA. President's day holiday.

It caught me off guard. I was also off for the holiday, so yesterday was the first day of my work week and I forgot it was Tuesday.

If they plan to fix all important DB issues during this outage, this may very well be a record long outage.

The are going to bust their Seti Classic record?

I think that today the admins at Seti do things differently, and they do not have a Tuesday maintenance. It can't be more broke than it already is, so they've decided to give up. :)

It started late today. Will it end late, or will it be short?

I can only twiddle my thumbs for so long.

(Actually, I've been remotely micromanaging my computer so it will finish its Einsteins on time. It's got 16 hours' worth of GPU work to do and only <14 hours until deadline.) (Really, 32 hours, but it does 2 at a time.)

Yes, they will turn their attention to "fixing" the BOINC machines today! ;)

I agree. They will decide to give up this fruitless attempt to find ET through radio signals. I believe the SETI project will stay down for good.

Or not, since it's up now.

Yes I know, we are not down, but I was called to the help desk here and now I can't find a place that would serve me a coffee...

Is the lack of good hot coffee a problem for the help desk? Who does the help desk call for help? ;-)

Will the help desk run out to McDonald's for a large unsweet tea with 3 Splendas for me, at 0130?

I'm reminded of the help desk for the last Lunatics installer launch:

Gone quiet, can't reach the forums, or make scheduler contact.
