I installed BOINC (7.0.28) onto a Windows 7 laptop (64 bit) and everything seemed OK initially. But after the next reboot I noticed that Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 was no longer running.

To get Kaspersky running again I had to effectively turn off BOINC through the manager.

Has anyone else found this - and is there a set of settings I can use in BOINC / or Kaspersky so that the two can run happily together?

So what happens when you try to (re)start Kaspersky when BOINC is running? Any error messages in Windows Event Viewer?
