Using Boinc 7.0.25 (x64) on two computers, both running Win 7 64 on (different) i7 processors, laptop with a Nvidia GPU, stationary with an AMD. Both have boot SSD drives which are fairly small and to which I'd rather limit unneccessary writes. Is there any way to point BOINC to use another drive?

Also, I'm happy to let projects use my GPUs, but (especially on my laptop) I'd like to limit the usage to say 50 % because it makes the laptop extremely hot to run the GPU at 100 %. Is there a way or do I have to choose between refusing GPU or having the fans continously on full blast?

If neither of these are currently available functionalisty, how do I suggest them to dev?

Kind regards

- Uninstall BOINC through Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs (WinXP) or Start->Control Panel->Programs->Programs and Features (Vista and 7).
- Move your BOINC Data directory to another drive or partition. Move the whole directory with everything in it.
- Install BOINC, and in the 3rd screen of the installer click Advanced;

then change the path to the Data directory to that of where you moved the BOINC Data directory to.

- Continue installation.

Done.
