Message 43298 - Posted: 7 Apr 2012, 1:15:13 UTC

been almost 12 years since i last used boinc to connect to seti@home, and I decided to give it a go again. However when I installed, and tried to connect ... all i get is connecteing to local host, then disconnected... I have tried all manners of hostnames and password combo that i had used in the past, but nothing worked. I read in the help section that I would need to look in this location for the password /var/lib/boinc/gui_rpc_auth.cfg but when I looked there, ther was no gui_rpc_auth.cfg file .... and i have the file manager set to show all hidden files as well so what is the scoop? what do i need to do to get connected again and un n running ? am running this on fedora 15. any info would be appreciated thanks in advance.

Please check http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=5925 for the bits of more info our helpers would expect, plus things you yourself can do already.
