I've been running BOINC on various projects for several years now, and yesterday I tried to upgrade from 6.10.56 (I think) to 6.12.34. The install process appears to proceed and then it stops with a dialog asking me to insert a 'BOINC' disc (looking for BOINC.msi, I think).

Of course, I don't have any such disk, and I get an 'Error 1706' when I cancel. I tried to perform an uninstall, but I get the same message asking for a disk. I did a search for 'BOINC.msi' and found two instances. The installer tells me that neither is a valid installation package.

Now I can't run BOINC or install or uninstall it. Can someone please help?

Thanks, Pat

Forgot to specify, I'm running Windows XP, all the latest updates.

Thanks for the pointer to the FAQ, Ageless. I had searched the FAQ but missed that. Everything is running now.
