I have installed Boinc 7.0.3 in my i5 Laptop in order to run Poem and Albert on ATI GPU with Open CL. I had set Boinc to keep running while laptop is on battery but Boinc goes into hibernation as soon as mains is diconnected. This started after i upgraded to version 7.0.3.

First off, you are running BOINC based on preferences?
Second, these preferences were set where, local or on a project's pages? If on the project, do you have local preferences, or ever only just looked at them? As these override the web-based preferences.

Third, I always add the following warning to my Alpha change logs:
Report any problems you get with it to the Alpha email list. This list needs registration.

Reporting bugs on this forum or any project's forum isn't very productive as the developers simply do not have time to scour through all forums looking for posts with your bug reports in them. While it may happen that we - other volunteers - forward your problem to them, history has shown it is quite difficult being the middle man in this when more information is needed from you. Hence why it's better for all concerned that you report the problem directly to the developers, who will come back directly to you when they need more information or better logs or to tell you that they've checked in a fix for the specific problem.

I think when your answers to 1 is Yes and 2 is Web and no, that you best go report this to the alpha email list, since you know what you did and how you set it. Be much much more eloquent about it though, explain in detail what you did and how anyone can possibly reproduce it.

Tested with Windows BOINC v7.0.3 (64-bit version). Using local settings throughout, BOINC responded as expected:

With 'run according to preferences', and mains power disconnected: computation suspended when I unchecked "While computer is on batteries", and resumed when I checked the box.

With "While computer is on batteries" unchecked: computation suspended when I removed the mains power cord, and resumed when I reconnected it.

Laptop is a Dell XPS L501X.

To the first part, yes in my prefrences i have checked compute while on batteries. It was set while i was on 6.12.34 then i upgraded to 7.0.3. When the power supply goes after about seven minutes CPU useage goes down to 2% which it was not doing so before. The elapsed and remaining time counters keep moving as if Boinc is busy but the CPU monitor in taskmanger tells a completely different story and of course the growl of the fans.
Second part. Ok i will go and register at Alpha email list but my aim was not to check Boinc 7.0.3 it was just to check up Poem and the Open CL part. In the second place it was not my aim to touble you either. It was just to bring to notice. If it causes me to much trouble i will revert back. No problem.
Cheers.

Ok! Sorry for the false alarm. It seems there was some thing in my Boinc folder. When i reverted back Boinc 6.12.34 was doing the same thing on understanding what was going on i exited Boinc but Boinc client did not exit instead it slammed into 100% CPU useage.
I had to delete all my Boinc folders then do a clean install. Now Boinc is behaveing like it should. Regrets.
