Hi all

I don't care if I don't get any credits for completing tasks, so how can I prevent BOINC from aborting tasks, when they are overdue? I think it's a pitty to abort the tasks, just because my computer wasn't running long/often enough especially for tasks, which are done over 60%. I'd rather like to compute it to the end and not getting credits than aborting the task.

As far as I know, BOINC will only abort work that hasn't started yet and that's over the deadline. Are you sure it isn't the project that sends an abort message for that work? You can check that in your messages/event log.

Which project or projects is this for?

Thanks for the answers first.

@ageless: I didn't consider the possibility, that it might be the project aborting my tasks. Lately it was GPUGRID and on my slower Laptop it was Einstein@home. I usually was able to complete the tasks within time, but lately, I wasn't that often on my computer.

@dagorath: Yeah I was also thinking about joining projects, which don't take that much time to compute, especially on my laptop, but I didn't find an interesting one (hope this doen't leave a bad impression). And I was also thinking about limitting the amount of downloading tasks, and as you said I would have to do that by changing the cache, right?

Thanks for the help
