Just put Win8 preview in. Boinc doesn't install because it can't create BOINC_Admins group for the sandbox. Be advised.

There's a fix for that in BOINC 6.13, but that's so pre-alpha that you shouldn't be trying to use it unless you're a die-hard alpha tester.

I did ask if the fix could be back-ported to 6.12; the developers have said they will so so, when another 6.12 is needed. It is therefore not included in 6.12.37!

.38 disables all GPU detection when installed as a service.

(protected mode == service install)

Same here with version 6.13.6. Till yesterday I could run BOINC on Windows 8 (using version 6.12.34, running *AS A SERVICE*), using my HD 4770 as a GPU. Now, after a video driver update -from the guys from Redmond, using an AMD/Ati supplied driver- that's not possible anymore.
