Interesting, but think that in first line you'd best address this over at the FreeHAL forums and post the start up portion of the client message log with it. They then can see the technical particulars [revealing OS/BOINC version/CPU etc] of your device without them and other reader/volunteer helpers having to dig for those.

I presume you've messed concepts. What you're talking about is an 'estimated CPU time'. And upon attach it's unkonwn to boinc at all. boinc requests amount of work in seconds (based on your preferences). Then project server ships as many WUs that would be for the time requested (based on how it was configured, and that out of your hands completely). Configure your boinc to request minmal amount of work, decrease cache. That's what you could do, but better don't mess with boinc.

What you should check is 'report deadline'. If WUs can't finish with that time, then you clearly have a problem.

Shortly: let boinc do its thing.

Why? Do you know what the DCF does?
Explain...

Yes, and?
I know what the DCF is and does. I asked you if you knew? Giving links to what it is isn't an answer to my questions. Why do you wish for a DCF of 100 and therefore do you even know what the DCF is and does?

So go ahead, go type. Make it your own answer, instead of using others their info. Try to learn something about the software before making (perhaps stupid) wishes. Or is that too much to ask?

Would setting your cache to 0.0 days not fix this issue?

The "normal" value for DCF is 1.0; that's why Ageless asked you if you did know what it's for. That standard value of course can only be maintained if the project-side estimations coincide with the computing abilities of your system. So, usually DCF varies between 0.2 and 2.0, but when the project tells your client that the runtime would be 0.0 seconds, there's no way DCF could accomodate that (only an infinite DCF could compensate a zero target).

Obviously it's a project-side error that BOINC can't compensate for.

Gundolf
