I am not a "fit it and forget" type user, I tend to move quotas around, sometimes more than once a week. Project requirements, my own interests, whatever.

What REALLY annoys me, is that my efforts to do what I want with MY systems are always a fight against BOINC.

I know why the debt systems are in place, and have read enough of the mails and boards to know that the calculation of debt is never going to please everyone.

Can we not have one, ideally two, choices on, say, the Advanced tab or Tools maybe, to zero all debts now, and ideally a further option to switch the entire debt mechanism off.

I used to have a third party tool to zero debts, but it doesn't seem to work any more.

Did you try the <zero_debts>1</zero_debts> option (new in 6.6.11) in the cc_config.xml file?

No, I didn't know of the option. It may not be as friendly as the menu item, but may well suffice. Looking at the file description, perhaps there are many people out there that would like a simple option on the menu, but all slightly different ones. I guess the options file is a good approach.

It is not clear to me, (yet), if the option is a "start up" thing, or an ongoing one, it looks a bit like the former, so whilst not ideal, it is a step forward.

Thanks for the steer there, I will do some experiments.

Sek,

On an Athlon XP 2800+ running WinXP SP3 using ver. 6.12.10, setting <zero_debts> to 1 and restarting client cleared everything and all projects now show 0.00 for LTD, so it does still work for me.
