I am running 6.10.58 on a fresh ubuntu 10.10 desktop install.

I connect through a socks 5 proxy.

I have other boinc clients that can connect through the proxy okay.

On the same machine as the boinc client I can run firefox with the same socks proxy settings and it connects and can browse the web okay.

My boinc client can not connect however.

I have turned on the log_flags around http and proxy but I can not see anything that would help me solve the proxy.

Any ideas?

I now run proxychains, getting it to supply the socksification, and get it to run boinc without using the socks proxy option and it can connect okay.

Something seems broken in the boinc socks proxy handling.
