I have been trying for some considerable time to get Boinc.Net up & running on my systems. I have followed the setup exactly as stated, but keep getting "cannot connect to host on port 31416".

Have checked firewall/Remote Access settings & cannot find any problem there.

Can someone confirm that Boinc.exe uses port 31416 please.

Yes, 31416 is the default port for manager/core client communications, though it can be overridden.

It is.
Check the log of the computer the other side and see if it reports something.
Use the ip number of the host instead of the name.
