I am trying to install BOINC on an Windows Server 2003 R2 that runs:

File Server
Application Server
Mail Server
& Domain Controller (Active Directory)

Every time the installation fails with the same message "Failed to create the 'boinc_master' account".
I tried the newest and an 6 months old version of BOINC.

I found an old reference to the problem that implies Active Directory as the main suspect but no work around. If anyone can help would be appreciated.

Its an quite idle 4-core new Server and i want to donate cpu usage.

thanks in advance.

BOINC 6 cannot be installed on Domain Controllers, because it uses local accounts. DCs only use roaming (global) accounts.

You will need to install BOINC 5.10.45 instead.
