I am unable to get BOINC to run on Mac OS X 10.6.2.

I first installed 6.10.36 on Mac OS X 10.6.1 and all the tasks failed to execute with Computation Error and the following messages:

Thu Mar 18 08:35:04 2010 World Community Grid Task R00612_d17e95ba33a33adc492125c489d72a41_03_001_17 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file

I then upgraded Mac OS to 10.6.2 and installed BOINC 6.2.18. Starting the manager displayed the message "Starting client services, please wait" and did nothing. Older versions could not communicate with the client.

I then tried both 6.10.21 and 6.10.43, it installs but then when the BOINC manager starts up it displays the message "Communicating with BOINC client. Please wait..." but does nothing. The only option is to cancel or quit BOINC.

I am not a Mac user, so if there is a solution to this please explain it to me in baby talk. My team got this Mac machine but we rarely use it, so it's a shame for all the processing power to go to waste.
