I'm running gentoo 64 bit, I've installed boinc 6.2.19 (which worked without any problems before I reinstalled my computer) now, when the user and group under /etc/conf.d/boinc is set both to boinc, the manager won't auto connect to the localhost when I run it, I need to connect manually, but when I change the user settings to my user and the group to user or any other group in which my user exists, the manager wont even connect.

how can I solve this issue?
boinc haven't calculated my signature yet, but it is on the WU schedule.

by permission,s I guess you mean what user and groups to set, now beside my user and user group, which other permissions can I use which will be valid?

the I installed boinc is no different from the way I did before I've never encountered this problem before, I know about file premissions, I didnt understood what you were talking about, I'm in the boinc group, in fact, that was one of the first things I've tried.
the folder's owner was boinc and group was root, I've changed it to user and group boinc, now from what you're saying, I should be able to run it without problems.

I'll try
