Hi

I'm trying to get boinc to do somework, but nothing happens.

I click on the 'update' button in commands, and in the status column is says something about scheduler, and that 'communication deferred 00:04:51'.

I doesn't seem like boinc is doing anything?? What can i do?? Alex

Now this is strange, as I have about 10.8 gig of space free. So what could be the problem?

Settings.

It doesn't matter if you have 100GB free, BOINC doesn't use all your hard disk (that wouldn't be nice!). There are settings for how much disk it's allowed to use. You just need to increase them a bit.

Requesting 0 seconds of work can be cause by a couple of related items. If a task is in danger of being late, then work fetch is much less aggressive, and won't fetch work unless there is less than Connect Every X days of work (current clients) or a CPU is idle (older clients). It also will not fetch work at all from the project that has the deadline problem (current clients - future clients have removed this restriction).

If a project has borrowed some CPU time to get tasks completed and reported before their deadline, then that project will not get a work request until that CPU time has been paid back (unless of course, it has to be asked to maintain the queue).
