Hi fellow Boinc users,

I have recently set up BOINC on my computer.

So what I have done is, BOINC starts running when computer is Idle for 3 mins, and the screensaver then starts at 5 mins.

However, here is my problem, I do not want BOINC to start running when I am watching a movie on the computer. It seems that boinc thinks my computer is Idle even tho when I am playing a movie and starts to run 3 mins into the film. Since I don't have a powerful computer, I don't want to let this happen. However, I also don't want to fiddle with the BOINC preferences everytime I want to watch a movie.

So is there any way around this?

Thanks.

"Idle" is mouse or keyboard activity.

BOINC has a Suspend function in the menu, (which is up to you to remember to reset afterwards), and a Snooze function in the Taskbar icon. (Which suspends for one hour).

If your watching is at a regular time, then there are the "Don't run between these times" options in the manager.

Or you could play with the mouse while you watch the movie. :)
