In the install of 6.1.16 there is no option to install it as a service? How can I install Boinc 6.1.16 as a service? Is there a way to tell the computer to be running in the background even when the computer is shut off or another user is loged in?

It always installs as a service. There is no option for the opposite.

Then my next question is this... I know in earlier versions you could choose graphics mopde service mode and so on * forget the 3rd option * But... in the new Alpha version you can't which I am told that now it is installed as a service already. But when I log out and then log back in say in 10 minutes nothing has been changed... it is still exactly where I left off. Is there a bug with the alpha version? Or am I missing something?

The "safe" mode is service. The "old graphics compatibility" mode is multiple user.
