Is there a BOINC operating system? A lean and mean OS for running BOINC? I would guess it would be a stripped down Linux with the sole purpose of running BOINC as quickly as possible if the participant has deemd that the computer running BOINC OS is dedicated only for running projects full-time.

Probably any headless-Linux would fit this description.
