Hello, I've been using BOINC for a week now. When I started, a SETI WU would run on each of my CPU and take about 1 hour to complete. Now 1 of my CPU takes 1 hour and the other about 11 hours. Nothing else has been installed to explain this change. If I look at Task manager, bothe CPU work at the same % (48-50). Anyone knows why this changed?

Seti tasks aren't all the same length. They vary in run time length from 1 hour to several days. Best ask the precise why and what on that on the Seti forums, though.

I re-registered with BOINC/SETI recently, and downloaded the current software. In the past version, I would see a screen-saver showing a rather impressive graphic display, which I imagine was meant to portray the fourier analysis of a portion of the signal received.

However, since re-registering, I do not see this type of activity as a screen-saver. Is there a way to ensure that I am in fact connected to the SETI network?

Did you attach to the Seti project? BOINC by itself does nothing, it is a managing program only. Only if you attach to projects like Seti will it download the necessary software (applications) and tasks to start the crunching.

Please open BOINC Manager, Advanced View, Projects tab and tell me what you see there. If Seti@Home is in there and according to the Tasks tab you have work, you can see the graphics by clicking on any running task, then clicking on the Show Graphics button.

To enable the screen saver, make sure your Windows screen saver option is set to BOINC and that the preferences you set through the Screen Saver's option in Windows are set to allow the screen saver to start up after x minutes of the computer being idle. With idle it's meant that you did not touch the mouse or keyboard for that amount of time.

Note that SETI has no work today, they had problems with the database server. It should be back working soon.
