I just installed Boinc 5.10.28 on my win 2000 system after replacing my power supply and main master drive and I haven't been able to get the boinc manager to upload any data for seti, rosetta, or spinhenge. Seti and rosetta were working fine before the crash and eating of the power supply now all I get is the message Message from server: Incomplete request received.

Do you need to set up any firewall rules to let Boinc traffic through? What sort of network, firewall, and/or proxy server do you have?

No firewall yet and no proxy server, I was waiting to setup my firewall until I get Boinc working again.

If you haven't got a router I think you should set up a firewall first for the safety of your computer. It could be a freebie that you just use for a few days. Win 2000 hasn't got a built-in firewall.

Do you use an account manager? (BAM etc).

I have a vague memory of this sometimes happening with account managers quite some time ago (when they first came out). Does anyone recall the details, and how to fix it? Was it due to one of the config files being corrupted?

Incomplete request received is what you get if you approach the scheduler with a browser. The BOINC client uses the POST method, the message that is returned shows something is using a GET method (like a browser).

I think your BOINC is corrupt. What did you do?
Where was BOINC when your other drive corrupted/crashed? Have you reinstalled BOINC over itself to see if that fixes things?

Was the data crunched on this Windows 2000 machine, or on another system?
