I have had this same problem for a long time. I just built boinc 6.1.0 from source using wxWidgets 2.8.6 and the problem goes away. Check this out...

Don't what?? Don't build this version of boinc? It came from your web site, and I didn't see any warnings about using it. I was just trying to fix my problem with BROWSER and I thought I would share my results with other users. If I did something wrong or inappropriate, then delete my original post.

The word "Don't" is a hyperlink.
Click on it for a post that says that version 6 was just a quick test, and people shouldn't use it.

With a further warning that BOINC 6.0.1, be it downloaded from the Berkeley site or compiled by yourself is NOT working as it should be. We're not even testing it yet. The version that is on the /dl/ site was made for presentation purposes only.

We can't give help on trouble with it yet as there's none of us running any version of it. The developers ask you not to run it. Use the 5.10 branch for now.
