The graphics and screen savers are in OpenGL 1.0, which by default does not support multiple screens from one video card. Well, it can do it, if your video card has a RAMDAC for each VGA outlet. But most cards only got one RAMDAC, which means only one monitor can show OpenGL graphics.

Another way around this is by using multiple video cards = multiple RAMDACs.

BOINC 6 won't be able to do it either. The same OpenGL system is used for backward compatibility. To be able to do multiple monitors from one videocard/one RAMDAC, one needs at least OpenGL 2.0, with a videocard that is compliant to that version of OpenGL;

The graphics and such are still OpenGL 1.0 compliant.

BOINC 6 will have a separate program for graphics, you can read all about that on http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/milestone/6.0 and http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/ClientSetupWinSix.

Due to the way BOINC is programmed, it cannot show separate project screen savers at separate monitors. It will always show the screen savers in sequence. You can show the BOINC screen saver and another screen saver on separate monitors, using something like Ultramon.
