Was running 5.4.11 happily and attempted to install the new 5.10.13 version following an updater invite.

But immediately ran into problems:
Installation shield wizard came up with a error dialogue box, saying that 'the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable' and asking that I click OK or 'enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'BOINC.msi'in the box below.

That box showed: C:windowsDownloaded Installations{234C024....} (rest did not show)
So tried browsing that lead and saw the .msi file but the installation refused to proceed.

Following that, the current version no longer loaded. So after fiddling around and attempting repeated installations, I made a back up of my main BOINC folder and then tried uninstalling via Control Panels. But that failed for the same/similar reasons.

So I uninstalled manually after searching for Boinc related files and then did a regedit run to see if there were any other registry entries remaining. Couldn't find any.

So I tried reinstalling both 5.411 and 5.10.13 without success. All attempts now stall close to the end of the install procedure bar, and bring up a BOINC Installer Information error box saying: 'Internal Error 2718. {BCD5E7DE-E306-47C7-B9A1-45B2E5FA4A77}.

I just want to run the thing, not reprogram my OS!

Any suggestions or previous experience of this one?
