The BOINC client provides a local choice of run or suspend. I'd like to see the suspend choice pop up a small window with a drop down box contains times up to 12 hours in various steps plus a suspend indefinately choice. If you select one of the times, the client will suspend for that amount of time, then automatically return to its previous mode.

This would, in many cases, remove the need to remember to reactive the client.

I would concur with this request, I have lost many weekend of processing time because I forgot to un-suspend before leaving the machine.

I would also like this feature, but with the added capability of suspending a particular client. I run both Seti@home and climatepredictor. Sometimes, I use my machine for other useful things, but climate predictor takes up lots of resources, so I'd like to swap it out temporarily to seti (which is less of a resource hog) while I am working.

I'd like to jump onto this bandwagon with my support. I would suggest that the "suspender" be able to work with the "services" client, as well as the "screen saver" client. The suggestion by Dar7yl about swapping out of one program in favor of another would be very useful. A(nother) way to do this might be to allow the user to run "SETI" (or whatever) during the day and "Einstein" at night, rather than swapping each hour or so.
