From time to time, my firewall (iptables in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5) rejects a bunch of outgoing messages. They look like this (these two are the same message):

Jul 24 09:31:51 trillian kernel: IPT OutFW I 80: IN= OUT=eth0 SRC=192.168.0.251 DST=208.68.240.16 LEN=52 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=64 ID=62693 DF PROTO=TCP SPT=53194 DPT=80 WINDOW=136 RES=0x00 ACK PSH FIN URGP=0

Jul 24 09:31:51 trillian kernel: IPT Out FIREWALL: IN= OUT=eth0 SRC=192.168.0.251 DST=208.68.240.16 LEN=52 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=64 ID=62693 DF PROTO=TCP SPT=53194 DPT=80 WINDOW=136 RES=0x00 ACK PSH FIN URGP=0

The first entry indicates that the message is of "INVALID" status and it refuses to send it. (The other choices are NEW, ESTABLISHED, and RELATED.)

This seems to be a new problem. I do not know if it is caused by switching from RHEL3 to RHEL5, or because I installed a new version of the BOINC client. I am now running 5.8.16 i686-pc-linux-gnu
