I have three projects running tasks, one of the tasks is 97.9 % complete but "paused". I would like to kick this task into life and get it completed. (You dont need to know this but I download tasks once a day from the Uni, and then go offline. It would be nice to get this almost complete task ready for the next time I go back on line!)

Cheers!

I think Andypandy should, for the projects of the tasks he's going to suspend, also select 'No new tasks' in the boinc manager Projects tab. Otherwise, suspending the 2 tasks will make the servers of those projects immediately send probably unwanted new work as soon as Andy allows internet access and network activity again.

Thanks folks, I have found the "suspend" button now! I cant find erm...'Leave in Memory' though. I guess that is a question for World Community Grid?...

@mo.v: Well does that not depend on the version of BOINC. AFAIK, but I could be ill informed, from 5.8 BOINC will not fetch work and continue to include ALL tasks in the buffer estimation, suspended or not....It does if the project itself as a whole gets suspended from past observations.

That's correct, but it will only work if you suspend the pojects in the Projects tab... not in the Tasks tab as you pointed out. ;-)

@Andypandy: All projects uniformly have the 'Leave in Memory' option in the profiles. At WCG it's called "Leave applications in memory while preempted?" in the Disk and Memory Usage Section. At pure BOINC projects like Rosetta it sits in the General Preferences "Processor Usage" section and NOT in their Disk and Memory Usage section.... will not comment (which is a comment too ;>).

Thanks, again. I think I have got it now.

Regards
