1. BOINC seems to need some 21GB more space to run.

Also, these numbers don't make any sense:

This started a couple of weeks ago after I had downloaded some big files. Neither of the projects are getting new work.
BOINC is installed on C: where the free 27GB are located.
It was running nicely and no modifications were made on any BOINC files before this started.
I have installed the program again but the problem persists. Version 5.8.16

2. After BOINC is done with the procedures described in log above, firewall indicators show that BOINC is trying to do something but no packets are sent or received. If I lock internet and then unlock it, this strange fiddling by BOINC stops. It also stops if I kill boinc.exe from taskmanager.

3. When I shutdown Windows, BOINC is usually not responding and needs to be shut separately.

What are your global preferences for disk usage? If you recently downloaded large files one of them may be kicking in.
