Are you connecting via a proxy server? (is your PC attached to a work or school network?)

No to both, no proxy conected via dsl , it worked for a couple of months but all of a sudden no go, nothing has changed that I am aware of unless a bug changed something in registry or a dll?

I have no problem with internet acess or any of my other software using live update for updating itself, if seti is down that would explain it although I did not see any mention on their webpage

You must be using a different web page then. ;-)

From http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/:
May 9, 2007
Update: Our science database server died on Tuesday, May 1st. We haven't been able to create new workunits since then (though we are still accepting completed results). Sun is graciously replacing this server. The bad news is, despite earlier claims, it won't be here until Friday the 11th, which means the earliest we'll be creating new work is Monday the 14th. Thank you for your continued patience! Updates, discussion, and more information about this and other server-related topics can be found in Technical News.

I am not running Seti, won't do so ever again either.
So I can't say if their "(though we are still accepting completed results)" means you can upload & report, or that it only means you can upload.
