I just upgraded from 5.8.15 to 5.8.16 and on my Windows 98 machine I encountered messages that it needed mscvr71.dll and mscvp71.dll and BOINC manabger would not start. I downloaded these dlls and now BOINC Manager comes up but cannot connect to a client. I suspect that the client needs someting else that is keeping it from starting. I have rebooted in case that was related but to no avail.
Am I limited to 5.8.15 on Win98?

Well, I decided to reinstall 5.8.16, took the Repair option, and now the BOINC manager is connecting.
