I'm running Mac OS 10.4.8 and just tried to install Boinc GUI version for the first time. This is a new(used) Mac that I just formated (case sensitive/journaled) and installed a freash system.

I ran the Boinc installer and ran the manager and got this error...

BOINC ownership or permissions are not set properly; please reinstall BOINC.
(Error code -1010)

I checked NetInfo Manager and there were no Boinc users or groups created.

I have had trouble with some installers when installing things on drives that were case sensitive. I have tried 5.4.9 and have the same result.

Any ideas? Thanks

See if this is your solution. If not, continue down that thread. Look for questions Charlie Fenton gave the other person. See also this thread.
