Hi everyone,

I am trying to get back into the Boinc thing. I have several old dell 780-Optiplex computers. ( info below )

I install the rosetta project last night. After many attempts, i notice a message ' communication deferred ' .

1) Is this an error or just waiting for the server to send tasks. I kept the machine on and this morning it was crunching numbers.

The rosetta project had completed the tasks.

Today I went to add the GRIDGPU project. I see the same message on both lines. Again, is this an error?

2) If I have this machine headless, will the new tasks automatically get pushed down, or is updating ( the update button ) required?

side note: my intent is to have several of these machines running, I have 10 of them.

TIA

GPUGrid, as the name hints to, works with GPUs. And only certain Nvidia ones as far as I know. So if you don't have any GPUs to work with, it's useless to add this project.
Rosetta has work, but it comes in batches. So there are times it doesn't have work.

Possibly relevant is that after trying to get work, most/all (not sure which) projects have a time out during which if you hit the project update button again, the time out starts again. On projects I have observed this varies from a couple of minutes to an hour in the case of CPDN.
